December and Year End recitals are important for students to learn performance skills and share what they have accomplished with friends and family.  Recitals typically have an overarching theme which engages the audience.  Students learn that music is not a passive experience. Music is a social experience which engages both the performer and the audience.  

Students that have taken piano lessons for a decade or more, upon graduating from piano lessons, have the opportunity to play with our family band for the year end recital final piece. For example, a student has played the funk organ part with us while another sang a popular soul song.
